Core Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Become a member of Webbing's Core Network Engineering team.

• Engage directly with live mobile core infrastructure, encompassing global roaming, MVNO operations, and an active 5G-SA roadmap.

• Resolve real network challenges across 3G, 4G, and 5G Standalone.

• Take ownership of support tickets from start to finish.

• Lead integrations and projects within a live production network.

• Design, scale, and incorporate network elements into an operational network.

• Participate in the integration of network elements.

• Utilize monitoring tools effectively.

• Offer 24x7 on-call support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Profound understanding of MNO/MVNO architecture and comprehensive GTP flow design.

• Thorough knowledge of 3GPP standards across 2G/3G/4G and 5G.

• Familiarity with GTP-C / GTP-U, CUPS, bearer lifecycle, session management, and data plane flows.

• Knowledge of Diameter & Radius, including routing, realms, application IDs (Gx, Gy, S6a), and AAA flows.

• Practical or advanced lab experience with 5G-SA architecture: AMF, SMF, UPF, NRF, and PCF.

• Strong comprehension of GRX routing and IPX interconnect operations.

• Understanding of roaming processes and procedures: IR.21, IPX, and GRX operations.

• Hands-on experience with PGW configuration, troubleshooting, and session management.

• Practical experience with PCRF, Gx interface, and policy management.

• Hands-on experience with GTP Proxy, GTP-C interception, and roaming traffic steering.

• Experience in Diameter routing configuration, signaling troubleshooting, and analyzing Diameter flows.

• Experience with Radius AAA flows, authentication, accounting troubleshooting, and analyzing Radius.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools.

• Capability to design, scale, and integrate a network element into a live network.

• Hands-on experience in integrating network elements.

• Familiarity with APIs and basic scripting, such as Python or similar languages.

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a core engineer.

• Willingness to perform 24x7 on-call duty.
