Core Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Accept new central platforms and services from the engineering team.

• Offer solutions for incidents or unusual events impacting business services.

• Engage in 7x24 on-call rotations.

• Monitor the availability of central platforms, service performance, and quality of delivered services.

• Utilize consolidated metrics to enhance visibility into network components and service quality.

• Adhere to OLA/SLA and target KPIs established with customers in operational regions.

• Develop and implement operational practices for platform and service management and support.

• Escalate and manage incidents with suppliers and internal departments.

• Carry out changes on central platforms following change management protocols.

• Facilitate support for regional and local Core packet platforms to guarantee mobile data service availability and quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in a network engineering or operations role within a mobile network operator.

• Strong technical knowledge of mobile network engineering and associated technologies.

• Familiarity with Core PS platforms architecture.

• Understanding of 5G/4G/VoLTE (Desirable).

• Knowledge of PCRF & DPI Rules.

• Proficiency in network signaling and traffic communication protocols.

• Awareness of 3GPP standard interfaces.

• Understanding of security protocols and best practices.

• Knowledge of Telco Cloud.

• Experience with platform virtualization and IP Fabric (Desirable).

• Familiarity with standard operating processes for operations, support, and maintenance.

• Knowledge of PS Platforms from providers such as Huawei, Sandvine, Ericsson, Nokia, and Microsoft.

• Intermediate proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

• Capability to participate in 7x24 on-call rotations.
