Controller/CFO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Supervise accounting and financial operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and the accounting team.

• Act as a key financial advisor to company leadership.

• Deliver financial analysis and recommendations to aid business decision-making.

• Present financial outcomes, forecasts, budgets, and other financial information to the Board of Directors.

• Develop and oversee internal controls, systems, and procedures for finance and accounting.

• Review and audit the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchasing activities.

• Ensure adherence to federal and state tax laws and government regulations.

• Oversee timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Coordinate audits and necessary tax reporting with the accounting team and an independent firm.

• Establish goals and metrics that measure business value drivers and finance objectives.

• Analyze financial results and departmental budget discrepancies.

• Suggest operational and capital structure modifications to meet financial objectives.

• Coordinate both organization- and department-level budgets.

• Collaborate with operations to ensure accurate cost assessments inform pricing for products and services.

• Prepare cash flow forecasts and financial position projections under various scenarios.

• Optimize financial resource productivity while ensuring sufficient liquidity.

• Lead functions related to invoicing, purchasing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to enhance cash flow.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is mandatory.

• At least 5+ years of experience in financial management is required.

• Demonstrated experience leading finance and accounting in a similar organization.

• Leadership experience in the marketing industry is preferred.

• Strong alignment with the organization’s core values is essential.

• Proven skills in accounting and financial reporting.

• Established capability to manage the financial strategy of the organization.

• Documented experience in managing internal controls, compliance, and finance processes.

• Proven success in cash management and coordination of banking relationships.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
