Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Supervise all daily accounting operations, encompassing general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and monthly/yearly closing processes.

• Generate precise and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP.

• Enhance and maintain internal controls to protect company assets and guarantee integrity in reporting.

• Document month-end closing procedures, accounting policies, and intercompany transactions.

• Report monthly SaaS metrics (MRR, GRR, NRR).

• Ensure accurate local sales tax reporting and payment; register in new jurisdictions as necessary.

• Collaborate with the CPA partner to prepare and file organizational income tax returns.

• Coordinate external audits and tax filings, acting as the primary liaison for auditors and tax advisors.

• Ensure adherence to relevant federal, state, and local tax regulations.

• Remain updated on accounting standards and regulatory changes affecting the business.

• Provide the CFO and executive team with financial insights to support planning and investment decisions.

• Enhance financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.

• Assist in due diligence for prospective partnerships, financing, or M&A opportunities.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a small accounting team.

• Promote accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the finance department.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA is highly preferred.

• Over 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including at least 2–3 years in a Controller or comparable leadership position.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Experience in Healthcare or SaaS is highly regarded.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, MS Business Central) and advanced Excel skills.

• Proven ability to handle audits, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements.

• Exceptional attention to detail, along with the capability to see and communicate the broader picture.

• Strong interpersonal abilities — adept at building trust across teams and translating financial complexities into clear, actionable terms.
