This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Create detailed work plans, project schedules, and establish key milestones

• Conduct and assess fundamental client finance and accounting functions, such as account reconciliations, payroll processing, month-end closing procedures, and preparation of financial statements

• Deliver Outsourced Controller services

• Oversee a fully remote accounting team, providing training as necessary

• Maintain regular and effective communication with client contacts

• Recognize client challenges and shortcomings, and assist in proposing effective solutions

• Manage and supervise client engagements and teams on a daily basis

• Facilitate the onboarding process for new clients

• Conduct and evaluate balance sheet account reconciliations

• Review client financial data and general ledger details to ensure completeness, accuracy, and correct account classification

• Prepare financial statements and essential management reports

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of proven experience in a CAS practice at a CPA firm or outsourced accounting services provider, in the accounting department of the private sector, or ideally, a blend of both

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related discipline

• CPA or CMA certification preferred

• Established success in managing both projects and teams in a remote or hybrid setting

• Experience working with real estate, family office, or high-net-worth clients is advantageous

• Capacity to handle multiple client engagements and conflicting deadlines simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness

• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards

• Proficient in cloud-based accounting software (QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Yardi, AppFolio, or similar)

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with the skill to convey financial data to non-financial stakeholders

• High level of organization, self-motivation, and accountability

• Capability to efficiently manage workload in a remote working environment
