Contract Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Prepare, evaluate, negotiate, and conclude agreements with research sites.

• Negotiate budgets for investigator grants, along with contractual terms and conditions within approved limits.

• Ensure adherence to negotiation guidelines, approval processes, contractual procedures, and client expectations.

• Guarantee compliance with budgetary guidelines, templates, and procedures.

• Identify and evaluate legal, financial, and operational risks, escalating as necessary.

• Offer recommendations and alternative solutions for investigator contract negotiations.

• Collaborate with internal departments on site startup activities and contractual deadlines.

• Align contract negotiations with the critical path for site activation.

• Meet target cycle times for site activations.

• Raise issues that fall outside established parameters according to set guidelines and processes.

• Connect with sites and internal teams to build effective relationships and ensure quality contract delivery.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.

• Prior experience ranging from 2 to 5 years that is comparable.

• A combination of suitable education, training, and/or directly related experience may fulfill requirements.

• Solid understanding of contract law, including aspects of business, intellectual property, and relevant local tax and stamp laws.

• Capacity to apply fundamental principles of investigator grant negotiation.

• General comprehension of business and financial principles tied to service agreements.

• Strong communication skills in English and the local language.

• Capability to draft and negotiate contract terms and budgetary matters within set parameters.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.

• Familiarity with pharmaceutical product development and the role of CROs.

• Ability to work autonomously or within a team setting.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities.

• Working knowledge of PPD SOPs and WPDs.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and assess contractual risks and concerns.

• Proficiency in using automated systems and computerized applications.

• Customer-oriented communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

• Ability to meet stated physical, attendance, mobility, lifting, and computer-use requirements.
