Continuous Improvement – LEAN Leader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +10 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead operational transformation initiatives across manufacturing sites in North America through both tactical and strategic Continuous Improvement projects.

• Manage Lean Six Sigma projects that yield substantial value and operational change.

• Participate in Enterprise Power Up pillars by developing standards and representing North American manufacturing interests.

• Implement Enterprise Power Up standards, which include change management, training, execution, coaching, and assessments.

• Apply operational excellence and LEAN principles to enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), safety, quality, and efficiency.

• Act as a subject matter expert in LEAN manufacturing while building capabilities throughout the North American manufacturing sector.

• Track mill-operation Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and create visual management tools, tiered scorecards, and Leader Standard Work.

• Enhance yield, decrease waste, improve quality, and boost productivity by utilizing Six Sigma and LEAN methodologies.

• Identify and implement technological solutions that elevate operational efficiency and asset performance.

• Develop both people and process capabilities to maintain the Power Up Enterprise Operating System.

• Conduct workshops to support the rollout of the Enterprise Operating System.

• Mentor business unit leaders and Lean Six Sigma candidates to foster growth and development.

• Educate employees across all organizational levels on Lean tools, processes, and methodologies.

• Promote standardization, simplification, and innovative thinking through Continuous Improvement (CI), Lean Six Sigma (LSS), and a Culture of Accountability.

• Encourage the sharing of knowledge and best practices across various facilities and functions.

• Manage stakeholder relationships throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in supply chain, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience typically gained through this education.

• Over 10 years of relevant experience in the field.

• Must possess or be in the process of obtaining LSS Black Belt certification.

• At least 5 years of experience in a high-speed industrial manufacturing environment is preferred.

• Experience in direct or indirect manufacturing/operations, supply chain, and/or finance is essential.

• Knowledge of organizational structure is necessary.

• Extensive experience in Engineering, Operations, Lean Manufacturing, and Reliability is required.

• Familiarity with Lean, Continuous Improvement (CI), Operational Excellence (OPEX), and Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools and theories is advantageous.

• Strong ability to organize and lead cross-functional teams.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to inspire, empower, train, and coach diverse team members.

• Experience in developing vision and strategy is preferred.

• A problem-solving mindset coupled with robust project management abilities is essential.

• Proficiency in MS Suite is highly desired.

• Experience across multiple mills, product systems, and managing both exempt and non-exempt workforces is highly desirable.

• A strong understanding of Adult Learning principles, Lean methodologies, CI, and LSS systems and tools is highly sought after.

• Experience in change management within large, complex organizations, alongside coaching and mentoring at all levels, is essential.

• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment is mandatory.

• Willingness to support various hours, including 24/7 operations and some shift work, is required.

• Willingness to travel approximately 50%, potentially more, including possible international travel.
