This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Execute pricing studies and recommendations for Property & Casualty, specifically concentrating on Workers’ Compensation lines.
• Utilize actuarial techniques to aid in rate development, trend analysis, loss cost assessments, and portfolio profitability.
• Assist in the creation and submission of rate, rule, and form filings in collaboration with internal compliance and regulatory teams.
• Support clients in addressing state DOI rate-related inquiries.
• Convert intricate actuarial findings into strategic insights and practical recommendations.
• Draft client-ready reports, presentations, and relevant documentation.
• Act as a reliable advisor to clients, engage in meetings, present findings, and support ongoing actuarial and consulting requirements.
• Foster long-term relationships with clients while comprehending their objectives and operational contexts.
• Collaborate with analysts, project managers, and regulatory consultants.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members as required.
• Stay updated on Workers’ Compensation trends, legislative updates, and actuarial best practices.
• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and initiatives aimed at process enhancement.
• 5–7 years of actuarial experience with a focus on Workers’ Compensation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Fellowship or ACAS designation preferred; alternatively, credit for specific actuarial exams and requirements, including Exam 1, Exam 2, VEE Accounting and Finance, VEE Economics, Exam 3F, OC1, OC2, MAS-1, MAS-II, Course on Professionalism, Exam 5, and active pursuit of the ACAS designation.
• Experience with insurance data and actuarial data adjustments.
• Proficiency in calculating rate level indications.
• Familiarity with Commercial and Personal Lines of Business.
• Understanding of State Rate & Rule Filing requirements.
• Strong skills in Excel, Access, and SQL.
• Experience in Reinsurance, Predictive Modeling, and Reserving is advantageous.
• Background in other lines of business and knowledge of Large Deductible Pricing methods is desired but not mandatory.
