Actuarial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Formulate pricing assumptions

• Submit proposals

• File premium rates and rate certifications with regulatory bodies for approval

• Assist in the implementation of rates, new plans, and benefit modifications

• Provide guidance to Product Development regarding the cost implications of new products and benefits

• Create and sustain tools for pricing both standard and custom benefits

• Establish financial metrics at the market level that align with segment profitability objectives

• Analyze outcomes and forecasts

• Suggest pricing strategies to close gaps in targeted performance

• Utilize market-level projections and experience-data tools to uncover root causes and actionable insights

• Investigate the competitive landscape

• Collaborate with Sales and other market-supporting partners to devise strategies for profitable membership growth

• Complete actuarial certifications related to rate filings, including confirming compliance with state and federal rating and benefit regulations

• Determine work methodologies and priorities while adhering to established guidelines

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree

• Successful completion of at least one actuarial exam

• Proven ability to effectively communicate ideas in both written and verbal formats

• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, with the capacity to identify opportunities for automation and process streamlining, enhance efficiency, and adapt to changes effectively

• Willingness to adjust work hours to align with the Eastern Time Zone

• Minimum home internet download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps

• Work from a designated area free from ongoing interruptions to safeguard member PHI / HIPAA information
