Construction Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage construction operations for new data center developments, taking ownership of program scope, timelines, and budgets.

• Foster cost savings and schedule enhancements while ensuring quality standards are upheld.

• Evaluate the constructability of electrical, mechanical, and architectural designs for both new and existing data centers.

• Develop program scopes and equipment specifications; support the RFP process, General Contractor selections, and capital funding requests.

• Supervise overall program quality, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and execution of the program.

• Handle Requests for Information and manage construction administration in collaboration with engineers.

• Document and communicate key metrics to team members and management.

• Simultaneously oversee multiple programs, including new data center construction and capital enhancement projects.

• Provide leadership to both internal and external teams involved in supporting the data center.

• Travel to data center locations for constructability assessments, startup testing, and commissioning activities.

• Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives focusing on schedule, cost, risk, and change management processes.

• Collaborate with the Regional Senior Program Manager to manage program cash flow.

• Coordinate owner-initiated changes and assess their implications on the foundational program.

• Facilitate monthly billing procedures.

• Develop, manage, and analyze intricate cost- and resource-loaded schedules in Primavera P6, encompassing schedule risk, time impacts, critical path, and resource leveling analyses.

• Maintain Autodesk data and generate regular management reports to monitor budget performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related discipline.

• At least seven (7)+ years of relevant experience on complex projects valued over $250 million.

• A minimum of five (5)+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, controls, security monitoring, fire safety, networking/fiber, utilities, preconstruction, execution, and project closure.

• Proven track record of effective cost and schedule management on significant projects.

• Experience in the design or construction of large colocation or client-owned/operated data center facilities.

• Experience in vendor and contractor/subcontractor negotiation and management concerning construction and program execution.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proven experience with fast-track design/build projects and/or multiple substantial upgrade initiatives.

• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary internal teams.

• Expert-level knowledge of Primavera P6, including schedule risk analysis techniques such as Monte Carlo simulations, time impact analysis, critical path analysis, resource leveling, and both qualitative and quantitative schedule assessments.

• Experience working with Autodesk data and reporting tools.

• Willingness to travel to data center sites as necessary.
