Construction Project Management Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Engage in a 12-week summer internship aimed at enhancing technical, business, leadership, and communication capabilities.

• Delve into a career in Construction Project Management with an emphasis on sustainable building solutions.

• Participate in all facets of construction projects, assisting in project execution under the guidance of a Project Manager.

• Organize and oversee assigned projects effectively.

• Develop schedules, project parameters, procedures, tasks, estimates, dependencies, milestones, CPM analyses, and histogram analyses.

• Aid in engineering programming and material selection efforts in collaboration with the engineering team.

• Establish and uphold operational budgets.

• Adjust estimates according to validated project scope and track projected costs until completion.

• Manage expenditures related to the project.

• Create subcontractor requests for quotations, detailing scope statements, plans, milestone dates, specifications, bonding requirements, and billing schedules of values.

• Receive and evaluate subcontractor proposals.

• Assist in supervising assigned project personnel, subcontractors, and installers.

• Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, owners, and team members concerning project scope, budgets, performance, close-out, challenges, obstacles, issues, and information needs.

• Collaborate with colleagues across North America.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must be actively enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program for the entire duration of the summer internship.

• Preferred fields of study include Construction Engineering, Building Management, Construction Management, HVAC, Engineering, or a related degree.

• Completion of at least the sophomore or second year prior to the commencement of the summer internship.

• Proven understanding of construction management processes, means, and methods.

• Involvement in coursework or projects related to construction or building systems, participation in construction-oriented groups, or relevant work or volunteer experiences.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or possess legal authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

• A valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months.

• Ability to provide proof of insurance coverage.

• No significant or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit-and-run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, multiple minor infractions, or preventable accidents within the past three years.

• This safety-sensitive position may necessitate additional drug screening.
