This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Establish procedures for regulatory oversight in support of the Kemmerer Unit 1 project and other Natrium units.
• Provide oversight for inspections during the construction of Natrium units, utilizing knowledge of U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations and inspection procedures.
• Evaluate the quality assurance programs of USO and TerraPower for relevant requirements and commitments.
• Conduct oversight of suppliers to confirm their readiness for NRC inspections.
• Independently identify concerns, communicate with team members and management, and propose regulatory resolution strategies.
• Oversee the scheduling of inspection and oversight activities.
• Monitor and analyze trends, providing recommendations to the Regulatory Construction Oversight management.
• Contribute to the Natrium advanced reactor project as a member of the Regulatory Construction Oversight team.
• Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction teams.
• A Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year university or equivalent experience.
• 10-15 years of combined experience in nuclear regulatory compliance, including knowledge of 10 CFR regulations and guidance, along with NRC reactor inspections for operational and/or construction projects.
• Ability and commitment to adhere to stringent quality assurance standards.
• Proficient in managing deadlines.

• Capability to sit and/or stand for extended durations, bend/stoop, grasp/grip, and perform fine motor tasks.
• Ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds.
• Work that requires visual and auditory focus.
• Ability to work in environments that include stairs, typing/keyboard activities, sitting and/or walking, and climbing for over 8 hours each day.
• Travel required: 15-30%.
• Must determine if a U.S. citizen or national, asylee, refugee, or lawful permanent resident of the United States; foreign nationals must undergo U.S. Government export-control review.
