Construction Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage telecommunication construction projects from inception to completion.

• Create scopes of work, collaborate with contractors, assign responsibilities, and provide project updates.

• Select and supervise contractors for projects, significant upgrades, and telecommunication construction activities.

• Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality standards, Smartaira’s scope of work, and technical specifications.

• Work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders during the initial planning stages.

• Develop comprehensive job descriptions and materials specifications.

• Plan and coordinate project schedules and budgets to meet deadlines.

• Prepare and submit budget estimates, communicating budget progress and costs to stakeholders.

• Ensure compliance with budgets and implement approved adjustments through change management procedures.

• Plan, organize, oversee, and direct construction and maintenance activities.

• Ensure that jobsite safety standards, guidelines, and construction codes are adhered to.

• Manage negotiations, revisions, and change orders, ensuring contractual compliance.

• Collaborate with clients, supervisory personnel, and contractors to address work procedures, complaints, and construction challenges.

• Lead efforts to respond to delays, adverse weather, emergencies, and other jobsite issues.

• Maintain productive relationships with owners, managers, designers, supervisors, tradespeople, and craft workers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of telecommunication contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations.

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Visio, Bluebeam Revu, and MS Office 360.

• Ability to remain adaptable and efficient in a dynamic environment.

• Capacity to make informed and swift decisions while performing well under pressure and during unexpected delays.

• Skillful in multitasking while analyzing and resolving issues.

• Exceptional telephone etiquette and professionalism.

• Energetic, organized, detail-oriented, with strong follow-through capabilities.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

• At least five years of experience in telecommunication construction project management.

• Construction Manager certification from the American Institute of Constructors or the Construction Management Association of America is preferred.

• A minimum of three years of telecommunication project management experience in single-family homes is preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in construction science, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering is preferred.

• PMP and/or PMI certifications or equivalent qualifications are preferred.

• BICSI or equivalent certifications are preferred.

• Industry-recognized WiFi/WLAN training and certifications.

• Ability to navigate and inspect all jobsite areas in various weather conditions.

• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Availability to manage delays, emergencies, adverse weather, and other jobsite challenges.
