This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mississippi.
• Perform conflict of interest investigations for attorneys and administrative personnel utilizing internal platforms and external research databases.
• Input, examine, analyze, and uphold conflict and new matter information in accordance with the firm’s policies and procedures.
• Assess workflow requests and submissions to confirm that essential information is present for processing.
• Investigate individual and corporate entities to recognize relationships and potential conflicts.
• Scrutinize conflicts reports for precision and completeness, assess potential issues, and resolve conflicts as needed.
• Elevate unresolved or significant concerns and follow up with attorneys and management.
• Review and manage new client and matter intake documentation prior to initiation.
• Address conflict check inquiries and provide system and status support to firm staff.
• Collaborate with team members and meet deadlines for timely processing of requests.
• Provide coverage for periodic after-hours/weekend On Call shifts as determined by the General Counsel's Office.
• Communicate findings to firm leadership and relevant stakeholders.
• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• A minimum of three years of experience dealing with conflicts in the legal sector is preferred.
• A J.D. is considered an advantage.
• Previous familiarity with Aderant and/or Intapp is preferred.
• Exceptional understanding of legal conflicts and associated ethical regulations.
• Strong judgment and discretion when managing confidential information.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
• Capability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Outstanding organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and execute them under time constraints.
• Effectively perform with moderate supervision and within set timeframes and ongoing deadlines.
• Willingness to seek and accept guidance while taking ownership of and resolving issues.
• Dedication to skill advancement and continuous improvement of work quality.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and professionally with attorneys, staff, and colleagues at all levels.
• Proven customer service focus and professionalism in a legal or professional services setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
• Strong computer, research, and proofreading capabilities.
