This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Perform conflict of interest investigations for attorneys and administrative personnel utilizing internal systems and external research databases.
• Input, examine, analyze, and uphold conflict and new matter data in accordance with the firm's policies and procedures.
• Assess workflow requests and confirm that submissions include essential information necessary for processing.
• Investigate individual and corporate entities to uncover relationships and potential conflicts.
• Evaluate conflicts reports for accuracy and completeness, assess potential issues, and resolve conflicts when suitable.
• Escalate unresolved or significant matters and follow up with attorneys and management.
• Review and manage new client and matter intake documentation prior to initiation.
• Address conflict check inquiries and offer system and status support to firm personnel.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure prompt processing of requests and adherence to deadlines.
• Participate in periodic after-hours or weekend on-call shifts as directed by the General Counsel's Office.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
• At least three years of experience in conflicts within the legal sector is preferred.
• A J.D. degree is advantageous.
• Prior experience with Aderant and/or Intapp is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of legal conflicts and associated ethical regulations.
• Good judgment and discretion in managing confidential information.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
• Capability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to organize, prioritize multiple tasks, and complete them within tight deadlines.
• Proficient in functioning effectively with moderate supervision and adhering to established timelines and ongoing deadlines.
• Willingness to seek and accept guidance while taking responsibility for and resolving issues.
• Commitment to skill enhancement and continuous improvement of work quality.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Ability to professionally collaborate with attorneys, staff, and peers at all levels.
• Proven customer service orientation and professionalism in a legal or professional services setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
• Strong computer, research, and proofreading capabilities.
