Configuration Analyst – Utility Billing, Rating

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage the complete configuration loop for each unit, from intake and source collection to decomposition, guide creation, platform setup, QA handoff, approval, and promotion.

• Break down intricate business rules, tariffs/rate schedules, and special contracts into the platform’s configuration framework.

• Utilize authoring guides and reusable component libraries, leaning on shared components instead of recreating them.

• Prepare source documents for LLM parsing and review AI-generated pricing tables, seasonal schedules, and charge formulas.

• Exercise human judgment when AI confidence is low and provide corrections to enhance tooling.

• Collaborate with the module Solution Architect on model-fit and data model inquiries.

• Work with client rate/billing subject matter experts (SMEs) to verify source-of-truth information and unique requirements.

• Ensure configuration quality through parallel billing validation against 12–13 months of legacy CIS billing history.

• Maintain synchronization of configuration guides, workbooks, and component libraries while documenting handoffs.

• Configure tariffs and special contracts, contribute reusable components, and assist in optimizing the AI configuration process.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in configuration or rules-engine roles.

• Experience with declarative configuration of an enterprise platform, such as a utility CIS/billing platform like Oracle CC&B or SAP IS-U.

• Proficiency in utility rate/tariff/billing structures or relevant experience in rate/pricing/benefits rules.

• Ability to interpret a tariff filing or contract and grasp the underlying data model.

• Familiarity with structured data, spreadsheets, light SQL, and collaboration with AI tooling.

• Experience with AI-accelerated or human-in-the-loop configuration workflows is a plus.

• A tendency to create reusable components rather than one-off solutions is advantageous.

• Must be based in the US.

• Willingness to travel periodically to customer locations.
