This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop intricate computational challenges for evaluating advanced AI systems in scientific and engineering contexts.

• Formulate original graduate-level challenges rooted in authentic scientific workflows.

• Create scenarios that encompass simulations, result analysis, experimental design, and uncovering hidden insights from data.

• Utilize specialized statistical, mathematical, or scientific software tools to craft reproducible numerical and strategic challenges.

• Evaluate each challenge against cutting-edge AI models.

• Enhance challenges through iterative testing and feedback until achieving the desired difficulty level.

• Compose problem setups, oracle functions, and solution validators using Python.

• Craft challenges where careful reasoning takes precedence over mere computational power.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced expertise or training in statistics, applied mathematics, a relevant STEM discipline, or equivalent research experience.

• MS or PhD is required; PhD is preferred, or MS with 10+ years of pertinent experience.

• Demonstrated proficiency with at least one specialized statistical, mathematical, or scientific software package.

• Experience showcased through research publications, contributions to open-source projects, or professional engagements.

• Strong skills in Python programming.

• Capability to work autonomously and refine problem designs based on input.

• Comfort in a Linux/terminal environment with remote computing sandboxes.

• Availability for a minimum of 15–20 hours per week.

• Independent contractor status.

• H1-B or STEM OPT candidates are not eligible.

• Preferred: experience in multiple computational domains or with specialized software tools.

• Preferred: knowledge of benchmark or evaluation design.

• Preferred: experience in scientific teaching or the design of exams/problem sets.

• Preferred: experience with computational reproducibility and containerized environments.
