Computational Mathematician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Utilize mathematical, statistical, and computational techniques to address intricate business, scientific, engineering, and research challenges.

• Create, test, validate, and enhance mathematical, statistical, and machine learning models for analysis, simulation, and forecasting.

• Develop simulation engines and tools, construct models for simulation environments, and produce synthetic data for reinforcement learning and unsupervised machine learning applications.

• Analyze, process, and manipulate extensive structured and unstructured datasets.

• Design, construct, and sustain data-driven solutions, analytical tools, and predictive models.

• Investigate and implement emerging technologies, methodologies, and analytical strategies.

• Convert stakeholder needs into data solutions, metrics, dashboards, and visualizations.

• Conduct numerical and statistical analyses to support strategic and operational decision-making.

• Employ feature engineering and model evaluation to enhance performance and precision.

• Generate reports, charts, dashboards, and visualizations that convey analytical insights.

• Uphold data quality, governance, metadata management, and data lineage practices.

• Collaborate on data security, access controls, and governance requirements.

• Create software functions, scripts, and applications that automate analyses and facilitate data-driven decisions.

• Remain updated on advancements in mathematics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science.

• Present technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Contribute to thought leadership, research publications, conference presentations, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or another technical or mathematical discipline.

• 3–5 years of relevant experience.

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience with Python, R, SAS, or another statistical programming language.

• Openness to learning and adaptability to new procedures.

• Strong grounding in predictive modeling, optimization, and data governance standards.

• Over 3 years of experience in data science, encompassing mathematics, statistics, programming, and data modeling.

• More than 3 years of experience in machine learning involving images, sensor data, and text datasets.

• Proven experience in solving complex problems utilizing analytical or technical tools and techniques.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and communicate technical requirements to full-stack developers and other colleagues.

• Competence in organizing and presenting ideas clearly in written documents and producing tailored, client-ready materials.

• Experience in building simulation engines and related tooling.

• Familiarity with developing models within simulation environments.

• Experience in generating synthetic data for training reinforcement learning and other unsupervised or self-supervised machine learning models.

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
