This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Dakota.
• Provide computational analysis and technical support for phenome, metabolome, glycome, lipidome, inflamome, transcriptome, epigenome, and genome assessments.
• Integrate genomic analyses with electronic medical record systems.
• Develop data analysis strategies, oversee projects, track outcomes, and conduct statistical validation and analysis.
• Produce manuscripts and official documentation, including standard operating procedures for clinical tests.
• Perform gene pathway analysis and evaluate gene expression data from public databases.
• Create computational services and conduct quality assessments on genetic test results.
• Generate reports for laboratory review and approval.
• Offer statistical and computational resources for genetic analysis, gene-expression evaluation, and gene-function assessment.
• Assess bioinformatics tools and statistical learning techniques, and innovate new methodologies as required.
• Ensure the integrity, traceability, precision, and security of data throughout analysis workflows.
• Implement analysis workflows using code reviews, version control, and automated testing protocols.
• Collaborate with researchers, laboratory professionals, clinicians, computational biologists, molecular biologists, and research partners.
• Deliver computational findings through both written and oral presentations.
• Maintain and support next-generation sequencing (NGS) pipelines and workflows for clinical purposes.
• Analyze and visualize both laboratory and clinical data.
• A Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Biomedical Engineering, or a Ph.D. in a related mathematics or science discipline is mandatory.
• Relevant experience in bioinformatics or a closely associated field is essential.
• Proven experience in next-generation sequencing analysis is required.
• A history of analyzing, interpreting, and modeling biological data, including next-generation sequencing information, is necessary.
• Proficiency in using scripting languages and statistical software for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization is required.
• Experience with statistical and machine learning methods applied to molecular biology and genomics is required.
• Familiarity with a broad array of bioinformatics tools and resources for genomics and sequence analysis is expected.
• Experience in deploying automated analysis workflows using cloud computing resources is advantageous.
• If the applicant’s Master’s or Ph.D. program necessitates licensure, certification, or registration, this must be obtained, or eligibility and timeline for achievement must be agreed upon prior to hiring.
• Familiarity with EMR APIs and interfaces is a plus.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Perl, R, Ruby, and Java is preferred.
• Experience in integrating and managing various data sources, workflows, and graphical user interfaces is desirable.
• Expertise in genetic and/or epigenetic analysis along with experience in medical and/or research informatics is preferred.
• 8-hour day shifts.
• 40 scheduled hours per week.
