Compliance and Personal Data Protection Lawyer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Provide support and assistance to the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and GDPR legal counsel in ensuring that entities comply with and uphold personal data protection regulations.

• Engage in the analysis of projects that involve the processing of personal data and aid in identifying relevant compliance requirements.

• Prepare or assist in maintaining compliance documentation, which includes records of processing activities, risk assessments, data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), data maps, and more.

• Assist the DPO and legal counsel in managing personal data protection requests, particularly those related to data subject rights and internal inquiries.

• Oversee audit assignments conducted throughout the Group to validate the compliance of processing activities and assess the operational effectiveness of implemented measures.

• Aid in drafting and updating privacy notices, procedures, policies, contractual clauses, and other documents related to data governance.

• Participate in monitoring relationships with data processors and evaluate the data protection safeguards they implement.

• Contribute to awareness-raising and training initiatives for employees to foster a culture of data protection within the Group.

• Conduct legal and regulatory monitoring on issues pertaining to personal data protection, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, including the GDPR, the French Data Protection Act, CNIL recommendations, and the AI Act.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree (four or five years of higher education) or equivalent, at a minimum.

• Enrolled in a legal program and/or a program focused on information and communications technology law (ICT law).

• Strong understanding of the GDPR and other regulations related to personal data protection.

• Interest in and knowledge of artificial intelligence and its regulatory framework.

• Inquisitive, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively as part of a team.

• Excellent writing skills and the ability to work independently.
