Compiler Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and execute fundamental offloading technologies, encompassing binary formats, device code generation, and advanced offloading models.

• Facilitate heterogeneous computing through the utilization of CPUs, GPUs, and accelerators.

• Collaborate with the LLVM and SYCL communities in upstream development.

• Partner with Intel's compiler, runtime, performance, and platform teams.

• Provide production-ready compiler solutions.

• Engage with Intel's offload and SYCL infrastructure across both open-source and closed-source compiler stacks.

• Contribute to LLVM-based technologies for Intel C, C++, SYCL, and Fortran compilers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline with 3+ years of experience, or a Master's degree in the same fields.

• Proficiency in C/C++, object-oriented programming, and data structures.

• Contributions to open-source development projects related to LLVM, SYCL, or similar initiatives.

• Basic understanding of compiler principles, including frontend parsing, IR transformation, code generation, and linking.

• Knowledge of heterogeneous computing concepts such as CPU/GPU programming, offloading models, and accelerator architectures.

• Experience in developing or maintaining production compilers within offloading toolchains, SPIR-V generation, and Clang driver (preferred).

• Familiarity with CPU/GPU/NPU architectures and programming models including SYCL, CUDA, and OpenMP (preferred).

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills (preferred).

• Ability to work autonomously and proactively seek solutions (preferred).
