Compensation Manager

📋 Description

• Oversee the administration and continuous advancement of comprehensive compensation programs, encompassing base pay, short-term incentives, salary structures, and job architecture.

• Collaborate with the Director of Total Rewards to assess compensation philosophy, programs, and practices.

• Offer compensation advice and recommendations to HR and business leaders regarding new hires, promotions, internal transfers, retention issues, and other compensation decisions.

• Create and uphold compensation policies, guidelines, tools, and communication strategies.

• Identify ways to streamline processes, enhance employee and leader experiences, and improve the effectiveness of compensation programs.

• Lead involvement in compensation surveys and perform market benchmarking.

• Examine internal and external compensation data to uncover trends, pay disparities, pay inequities, compression, and other areas that require attention.

• Maintain and assess salary structures, market reference points, and compensation frameworks.

• Develop compensation models, reports, and dashboards to aid leadership in decision-making.

• Keep an eye on external market practices and emerging compensation trends, recommending necessary adjustments.

• Direct critical components of annual compensation cycles, including merit, incentives, promotions, and salary planning.

• Collaborate with HRIS and Payroll to ensure the accuracy of program configurations, calculations, and employee data.

• Conduct audits and analyses to support pay equity, internal consistency, and compliance.

• Maintain documentation, controls, and approval processes for compensation programs and pay decisions.

• Partner with Total Rewards, HR, Finance, Payroll, Legal, and business leaders.

• Act as a trusted compensation advisor, translating complex data into straightforward recommendations.

• Assist in Total Rewards initiatives and special projects.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

• 5–8 years of progressive experience in compensation or Total Rewards, including managing broad-based compensation programs.

• Strong understanding of compensation principles, market benchmarking, salary structures, incentive plans, and job evaluation methodologies.

• Proven experience leading annual compensation planning cycles and providing compensation consultation to HR and business leaders.

• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or a similar Total Rewards certification is preferred.

• Excellent analytical, project management, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to convert data into actionable recommendations.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and compensation analytics.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of discretion.

• Remote work is not available for residents of California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee, unless willing to relocate.
