
Community Manager, DEV – Full-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as the primary steward for the DEV developer community on a daily basis.
• Engage actively on DEV every day by reading, commenting, reacting, posting, and understanding its culture and active members.
• Take ownership of DEV moderation, set platform standards, make final decisions on complex cases, and collaborate with volunteer moderators.
• Oversee and manage community support channels and inboxes.
• Identify key contributors, recurring issues, and emerging challenges within the community.
• Direct feedback, bug reports, feature requests, and escalations to the appropriate internal teams.
• Recruit technical writers and contributors from the developer ecosystem to join the DEV platform.
• Manage or support MLH's presence on Reddit and other relevant community platforms.
• Curate community content through editorial roundups, newsletters, and email marketing campaigns.
• Acknowledge valuable contributions, enhance content quality, and maintain a consistent brand voice.
• Utilize AI tools to streamline community and content tasks while exercising judgment and quality control.
• Foster connections between the MLH and DEV communities, representing community needs within MLH.
• An active, established member of the DEV community with a proven track record of contributing to and engaging on the platform.
• A DEV profile with a verified history is mandatory.
• Experience in moderating, setting up bots, creating automations, or managing a Discord server.
• Familiarity with Reddit and other online community platforms.
• Excellent writing and editing capabilities.
• Strong instincts for curating relevant content.
• Understanding of the lifecycle of a community-reported GitHub issue, from initial report to resolution.
• Ability to make sound decisions in ambiguous situations, including moderation choices, content issues, and support escalations.
• Experience utilizing AI tools as a foundational element, followed by refining, curating, and adapting their outputs.
• A minimum of four hours of overlap with US Eastern Time during each workday.
