Communications Data Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Provide senior-level analytical support for a federal strategic communications and stakeholder engagement initiative.

• Establish frameworks for communication and engagement measurement that link objectives to KPIs, data sources, calculation methods, reporting frequency, ownership, and decision-making applications.

• Develop, improve, and sustain integrated dashboards that track communications performance, stakeholder engagement, customer outreach, CRM activities, pipeline status, service-level performance, and leadership reporting.

• Analyze message reach, channel effectiveness, stakeholder involvement, event and session activities, audience behavior, customer feedback, and organizational outcomes.

• Create CRM reporting frameworks and data standards for contacts, organizations, interactions, engagement history, customer segments, opportunities, milestones, follow-up actions, and results.

• Oversee CRM and engagement data quality and coordinate necessary corrective measures.

• Integrate and reconcile data from CRM, spreadsheets, web analytics, social media, email, surveys, events, media monitoring, and other approved sources.

• Develop audience and stakeholder segmentation models for targeting, outreach planning, engagement strategies, and evaluating underserved groups.

• Conduct trend analysis, cohort studies, funnel evaluations, and comparative analyses to pinpoint changes, challenges, risks, opportunities, and factors affecting communications performance.

• Generate recurring monthly and executive reports detailing findings, limitations, data quality, risks, and recommended actions.

• Assist with customer satisfaction evaluations, survey design, response analysis, qualitative coding, and integration of feedback.

• Monitor deliverables and service levels, including responsiveness, timeliness, quality, staffing coverage, and ongoing reporting.

• Collaborate with communications, program management, digital, web, customer experience, and technical teams to define reporting requirements and measurable indicators.

• Create data dictionaries, metric definitions, dashboard documentation, data lineage records, SOPs, quality-control checks, and user guidance materials.

• Present analytical insights to government and contractor leadership with actionable recommendations.

• Address routine, urgent, and surge reporting requests while ensuring accuracy, traceability, and review controls.

• Comply with federal privacy, security, records management, accessibility, and information-handling protocols.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in data analytics, business intelligence, CRM analytics, marketing or communications analytics, customer analytics, program evaluation, or a closely related area.

• Bachelor's degree in data analytics, statistics, business analytics, information systems, communications, marketing, public administration, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be accepted.

• Experience in constructing and maintaining executive dashboards, recurring performance reports, and analytical products for operational or strategic decision-making.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or a similar business intelligence and visualization platform.

• Extensive experience with CRM data and reporting utilizing Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, or a comparable platform.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data cleaning, lookups, pivot tables, data modeling, validation, and repeatable reporting workflows.

• Working knowledge of SQL or another query language.

• Capability to combine, validate, and analyze data from various structured sources.

• Experience in defining KPIs, documenting metric logic, establishing baselines and targets, and evaluating reach, engagement, conversion, satisfaction, behavior change, or organizational outcomes.

• Ability to convert analytical findings into clear narratives, executive summaries, presentation slides, and actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences.

• Strong comprehension of data governance, quality assurance, privacy, access control, and responsible management of sensitive organizational and stakeholder information.

• Capacity to manage multiple reporting cycles, stakeholders, and urgent requests while maintaining version control, traceability, and meeting deadlines.

• Ability to meet federal suitability, onboarding, confidentiality, privacy, and information-handling requirements.

• Must reside in the contiguous United States and be available for occasional travel to Washington, DC, and other locations as needed.
