This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Compose, revise, proofread, format, and schedule the monthly SEAM staff newsletter along with employee communications.
• Integrate feedback from stakeholders and adjust newsletter content to enhance clarity, accuracy, and engagement.
• Design and execute initiatives aimed at boosting employee engagement.
• Oversee and refresh SEAM websites, which includes making content edits, updating documents, conducting quality assurance reviews, and performing accessibility checks.
• Monitor websites for any broken links, formatting issues, and areas for content and user experience enhancement.
• Collect and analyze website data, generating reports and recommendations based on findings.
• Produce content for e-newsletters, websites, presentations, signage, and various other communication materials.
• Create both printed and digital materials, including flyers, signage, and presentations.
• Assist with communications for events, volunteer registrations, and outreach materials.
• Keep track of event-related spreadsheets and maintain communications planning documents.
• Provide support for special projects and communication campaigns as required.
• Collaborate closely with the Strategic Communications Manager to elevate the profile of SEAM and its services within the JHU community.
• High School Diploma or equivalent education.
• A minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
• Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and organizational capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail and a dedication to maintaining accuracy.
• Capability to manage multiple projects independently with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
• Ability to apply design principles, layout techniques, and brand identity standards.
• A commitment to collaboration, quality, and cultural responsiveness.
• Prior experience in communications, marketing, writing, or graphic design.
• Proficiency with graphic design software such as Adobe InDesign or Canva.
• Familiarity with website management platforms, including WordPress or Drupal.
• Understanding of data analytics tools like Siteimprove or GA4.
• Basic skills in video editing.
• The selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background check.
• Additional education may be considered as a substitute for the required experience according to the JHU equivalency formula.
• Pre-employment background check is mandatory.
