This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Offer strategic communications support across various programs within the Division of Community-Based Prevention and Care, encompassing oral health, asthma, community health workers, cancer, and community-health alignment.

• Develop and execute a communications plan that supports and promotes specific topic areas.

• Determine key messages and communication channels, including both traditional and emerging platforms.

• Identify or create culturally relevant content suitable for selected channels and different literacy levels.

• Incorporate analysis of systemic and historical racism and its impact on health inequities into communications efforts.

• Plan, create, implement, and assess communication message strategies that align with public health missions and objectives.

• Provide marketing and communications expertise for printed and online publications, websites, presentations, and other collateral materials.

• Collaborate with program teams on message planning, research, development, and delivery.

• Build and maintain relationships with partners, contractors, and stakeholders.

• Create content for digital media platforms and ensure consistency across communication channels while adhering to state requirements and guidelines.

• Ensure that communication activities adhere to accepted principles, methods, and best practices.

• Attend internal and external meetings when requested.

• Complete assigned deliverables and necessary reports within specified time frames.

• Manage project work as needed, including quality assurance and compliance with deliverables.


⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in health communications, public health, or a related discipline.

• 2-4 years of relevant professional experience.

• Familiarity with behavior change messaging, marketing, and other communication principles.

• Proven experience applying communication principles in previous roles.

• General understanding of and commitment to health equity, including racial equity, and addressing social determinants of health.

• Experience in creating communication materials and awareness campaigns, including designing visually appealing content.

• Ability to work independently while also taking direction as part of a team.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Experience working in collaborative team settings.

• Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
