This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Formulate and implement growth strategies for commodities/categories that align with organizational goals, customer needs, supplier capabilities, and business segment priorities.
• Develop and uphold category business plans, strategic roadmaps, market maps, and growth objectives for the designated commodity area.
• Act as the internal subject matter expert on commodities for Account Managers, Business Development, and cross-functional teams.
• Convert supplier capabilities and market trends into customer solutions, repeatable concepts, capability packages, and sales enablement resources.
• Assist in major pursuits, capture efforts, proposals, supplier-enabled opportunities, demonstrations, customer meetings, technical discussions, and planning efforts.
• Collaborate with Sales and Business Development to pinpoint customer opportunities, enhance customer positioning, boost win probabilities, and expedite pipeline development.
• Work alongside Vendor Management regarding supplier capabilities, gaps, additions or removals, development priorities, and capability investments.
• Offer category expertise during supplier evaluations, business reviews, strategic discussions, and capability assessments without managing supplier relationships.
• Conduct commodity mapping to uncover whitespace, underrepresented capabilities, emerging OEMs, market gaps, technology trends, and competitive developments.
• Analyze category performance, pricing dynamics, margin trends, pipeline activity, supplier incentives, and customer demand signals to propose actions that enhance revenue growth and profitability.
• Create enablement materials for Account Managers, including category playbooks, opportunity briefs, positioning notes, competitive comparison tools, and training content.
• Collaborate with Marketing on category campaigns, trade show strategies, customer-facing materials, and content creation.
• Partner with Operations to address contract requirements, customer pain points, execution constraints, and delivery considerations.
• Support growth across BOS and TLS programs, contract vehicles, customer segments, commodities, and strategic initiatives.
• Travel as necessary for customer meetings, supplier engagement, industry events, trade shows, and internal planning sessions.
• At least 5 years of experience in category management, supplier relations, defense, technical product categories, procurement, or supply chain as it relates to the assigned commodity.
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, or equivalent work or military experience.
• Ability to translate supplier capabilities, market trends, product knowledge, and customer needs into customer solutions, growth strategies, and sales enablement resources.
• Preferably knowledgeable about U.S. Government contracting, federal procurement processes, contract vehicles, and Defense and Federal market requirements.
• Capable of interpreting category performance, margin trends, pipeline activity, customer concentration, supplier capability gaps, and demand signals.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for internal briefings as well as discussions with customers and suppliers.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Vendor Management, Business Development, Marketing, Operations, Analytics, and leadership.
• Self-motivated, organized, accountable, and adept at managing multiple category priorities, pursuits, and stakeholder needs.
• Proficient in Salesforce and the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Willingness and ability to travel by vehicle or air for customer or supplier engagements.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident (green card holder).
