This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement growth strategies for commodities/categories that align with organizational goals, customer needs, supplier capabilities, and business segment priorities.

• Develop and uphold category business plans, strategic roadmaps, market analyses, and growth priorities.

• Act as the internal expert on commodities for Account Managers, Business Development, and cross-functional teams.

• Convert supplier capabilities and market trends into customer solutions, conceptual solutions, capability packages, and tools for sales enablement.

• Assist in major pursuits, capture initiatives, proposals, supplier-enabled opportunities, demonstrations, customer meetings, technical discussions, and pursuit planning.

• Collaborate with Sales and Business Development to discover customer opportunities, enhance positioning, boost win probability, and expedite pipeline development.

• Work alongside Vendor Management regarding supplier capabilities, gaps, additions or removals, development priorities, and investment in capabilities.

• Provide category insights during supplier evaluations, business reviews, strategic discussions, and capability assessments.

• Perform commodity mapping to pinpoint whitespace, emerging OEMs, market gaps, technology trends, and competitive advancements.

• Assess category performance, pricing trends, margin dynamics, pipeline activities, supplier incentives, and customer demand signals.

• Create enablement materials for Account Managers, including category playbooks, opportunity briefs, positioning notes, competitive tools, and training content.

• Collaborate with Marketing on campaigns, trade show strategies, customer-facing materials, and content development.

• Partner with Operations to address contract requirements, customer pain points, execution challenges, and delivery considerations.

• Support growth initiatives across BOS and TLS programs, contract vehicles, customer segments, commodities, and strategic initiatives.

• Travel as needed for customer meetings, supplier engagements, industry events, trade shows, and internal planning sessions.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in category management, supplier relations, defense, technical product categories, procurement, or supply chain related to the assigned commodity.

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, or equivalent work/military experience.

• Capability to translate supplier strengths, market trends, product knowledge, and customer requirements into customer solutions, growth strategies, and sales enablement tools.

• Familiarity with U.S. Government contracting, federal procurement processes, contract vehicles, and requirements of the Defense and Federal markets is preferred.

• Ability to analyze category performance, margin trends, pipeline activities, customer concentration, supplier capability gaps, and demand signals.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills for internal briefings as well as discussions with customers and suppliers.

• Capacity to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Vendor Management, Business Development, Marketing, Operations, Analytics, and leadership.

• Self-motivated, organized, and accountable, demonstrating strong follow-through and the ability to manage multiple priorities, pursuits, and stakeholder needs.

• Proficient in Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

• Willingness and ability to travel by vehicle or air for customer or supplier engagements.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident (green card holder).
