Commodities Services Associate/Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Carry out regular daily, weekly, and monthly reporting tasks under supervision.

• Aid in the upkeep of dashboards and reports utilizing Power BI, Spotfire, Excel, and Endur.

• Conduct data validation and quality assurance checks across various systems.

• Assist with trade support and operational procedures.

• Gather and structure data for analysis and presentation purposes.

• Provide support to senior team members with ad hoc analyses and special projects.

• Facilitate trading operations and meet reporting requirements.

• Collect and document requirements through collaboration with stakeholders.

• Recognize and implement incremental improvements in processes.

• Reconcile monthly gathering/pipeline invoices against both nominated and actual volumes.

• Monitor and resolve imbalances, including imbalance trades in Endur.

• Coordinate with field operations and production teams regarding nominations and volume inquiries.

• Extract and validate data feeds from pipeline interconnects.

• Assist with quarterly SOX/audit control testing for commercial transactions.

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related discipline.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data organization, and formatting.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.

• Strong sense of initiative, attention to detail, and accuracy.

• Capability to adhere to structured processes and established workflows.

• Openness to learning, actively seeking feedback, and adapting to changes.

• Basic understanding of commodities markets, including supply/demand dynamics, price formation, and key market players.

• Basic knowledge of trading concepts, including trade structures, order types, hedging, and futures/derivatives.

• Preferred: At least 2 years of relevant experience.

• Preferred: Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks under competing priorities.

• Preferred: Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Preferred: Basic understanding of the entire trade lifecycle, encompassing origination, confirmation, scheduling, nomination, invoicing, and settlement.

• Preferred: Basic knowledge of P&L and pricing concepts.

• Preferred: Foundational familiarity with BI tools, including Power BI and Spotfire, as well as data visualization principles.

• Preferred: Ability to convey data insights in simple terms for non-technical stakeholders.
