This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
β’ Provide commissioning assistance for both upcoming and ongoing solar plant initiatives.
β’ Conduct hands-on testing and commissioning of substation and interconnection equipment.
β’ Execute NETA and NERC testing for external clients.
β’ Collaborate with the SCADA team for system integration and problem-solving.
β’ Keep precise logs, checklists, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) documentation.
β’ Lead or support the startup and energization of electrical systems.
β’ Educate subcontractors and vendors on safety procedures, including LOTO and Energized Zone protocols.
β’ Diagnose and remedy field issues, including developing procedural methods.
β’ Engage in daily and weekly progress meetings while maintaining project records.
β’ Independently manage small projects and guide field service teams on larger assignments.
β’ Provide timely service reports and share insights on equipment performance.
β’ Implement Kochβs Guiding Principles in all work engagements.
β’ Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% and work weekends and holidays as necessary.
β’ Possession of a valid driver's license.
β’ High school diploma or higher with at least 3 years of experience in testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems.
β’ Alternatively, completion of an accredited trade school and/or program with 7 or more years of experience in evaluating and servicing electrical distribution or control systems in place of a high school diploma or GED.
β’ Proven experience in testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems.
β’ Familiarity with performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, and analysis.
β’ Experience with protective relays.
β’ Capability to work outdoors and endure varying weather conditions.
β’ Ability to sit, stand, walk short distances, and occasionally climb stairs.
β’ Frequency in grasping, lifting, handling, and carrying objects, with a maximum lifting capacity of 50 lbs.
β’ Compliance with all safety standards and procedures is essential.
β’ Ability to reach above shoulder height and below waist level, including kneeling or bending.
β’ Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without the need for visa transfer or sponsorship.
β’ Preferred: experience with SCADA infrastructure.
β’ Preferred: OSHA 30 and/or NFPA 70E certification.
β’ Preferred: NETA 3 or 4 certification.
β’ Preferred: proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics.
β’ Preferred: understanding of prerequisite testing for PV power plants, such as ground testing, insulation resistance, VLF, power factor, breaker timing, relay programming, and testing.
β’ Preferred: experience in managing and directing a team.
β’ Preferred: NICET/NETA certification.
