Commissioning Project Manager II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Plan, coordinate, execute, and finalize commissioning activities for designated data center development projects.

• Serve as CyrusOne's owner representative throughout the entire project lifecycle.

• Create, maintain, and implement commissioning plans, schedules, issue logs, testing plans, and turnover strategies.

• Coordinate commissioning activities among contractors, vendors, project managers, operations teams, and third-party commissioning providers.

• Identify commissioning risks, potential schedule impacts, readiness concerns, and issues needing resolution.

• Lead readiness planning and execution for Level 3, Level 4, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).

• Act as the primary commissioning representative for CyrusOne during critical testing events.

• Ensure testing adheres to approved procedures, project requirements, and operational expectations.

• Oversee issue resolution, retesting, corrective actions, deficiency tracking, action items, and closeout activities.

• Assess testing results and provide recommendations for operational readiness and project turnover decisions.

• Manage third-party commissioning providers, contractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with requirements, schedules, testing expectations, and documentation standards.

• Deliver project updates, commissioning reports, executive summaries, and status updates.

• Maintain precise commissioning records and project documentation.

• Coordinate and review turnover documentation, including testing reports, substantial completion documentation, punch lists, occupancy documentation, operating manuals, warranties, as-built drawings, spare parts inventories, and final closeout requirements.

• Facilitate the transition from commissioning to operational ownership.

• Mentor Commissioning Project Manager I team members and assist with onboarding, development, best-practice sharing, and process improvement.


⛳️ Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in commissioning, construction management, mission-critical facilities, facility operations, startup, testing, project management, or related technical fields.

• Proven experience independently managing commissioning activities, turnover, startup, testing, or operational readiness efforts for complex facilities.

• Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, controls, and critical infrastructure systems.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, commissioning plans, operating sequences, test procedures, and technical documentation.

• Experience in coordinating contractors, vendors, consultants, and cross-functional project teams.

• Capability to independently manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational and documentation management abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

• Experience using Bluebeam or similar document management software.

• Willingness to travel 50 to 75% of the time.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
