Commissioning Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the commissioning delivery for multiple simultaneous data center construction projects.

• Create and execute standardized commissioning strategies, frameworks, and schedules across the entire portfolio.

• Manage pipeline planning to enhance resource allocation and execution strategies.

• Collaborate with Construction, Design, and Operations teams to guarantee successful project completion.

• Contribute to project budgets, commissioning strategies, and testing protocols, including FAT, FPT, and IST.

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients during commissioning phases.

• Report on progress against key milestones, including readiness for service (RFS).

• Lead the resolution of intricate issues and escalations.

• Promote the adoption of commissioning standards, governance, and best practices.

• Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives for commissioning processes, tools, and delivery models.

• Standardize commissioning scopes, methodologies, and timelines.

• Manage commissioning reporting across the entire portfolio.

• Supervise commissioning documentation, testing procedures, reports, and readiness assessments.

• Utilize data and performance insights to identify trends, mitigate risks, and enhance future delivery.

• Lead the commissioning vendor strategy, including RFP development, selection, and performance management.

• Define and monitor vendor KPIs and conduct regular business reviews.

• Oversee external commissioning partners and governance forums.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in data center commissioning within mission-critical environments.

• Proven leadership experience managing complex, multi-site construction programs.

• Strong technical knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems, including MEP systems.

• Demonstrated capability to drive cross-functional alignment and influence senior stakeholders.

• Experience managing external vendors and large-scale service delivery contracts.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Experience in hyperscale or cloud data center environments.

• Familiarity with integrated systems testing (IST) and advanced commissioning methodologies.

• Experience in a global or multi-region delivery model.
