Commercial Maintenance Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Provide efficient, effective, and timely facility maintenance services to various clients within a designated geographic area.

• Travel using a company van to different customer locations to manage commercial property maintenance.

• Conduct preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, equipment, and grounds.

• Carry out minor plumbing tasks, such as unclogging toilets and drains, fixing leaks, and replacing fixtures.

• Execute routine painting and carpentry work, including drywall repairs and matching paint.

• Perform minor electrical maintenance allowed without a license in accordance with state regulations.

• Conduct service and asset inspections.

• Access and complete work orders via a tablet or smartphone, including service notes.

• Generate and submit service reports along with quality inspection images and documentation.

• Submit timesheets, expense reports, and purchase card logs.

• Acquire materials and supplies necessary for assigned tasks.

• Foster and maintain customer relationships while communicating with clients and internal support teams.

• Complete mandatory safety and compliance training, and participate in weekly safety meetings.

• Provide estimates for larger projects and services required by onsite customers.

• Perform emergency maintenance and preventive maintenance, along with other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or degree/certification, or equivalent professional experience in Landscaping, Trades (such as Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing), or Specialty Floor Care is preferred.

• Two to five years of general maintenance experience, which includes minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work; or a comparable mix of training, education, and experience.

• Relevant work experience in one or more building trades.

• A background in commercial services is highly desirable.

• Must hold applicable certifications, licenses, and a valid driver's license in good standing.

• Capability to read and understand safety policies, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedure guides.

• Proficiency in writing routine reports and correspondence.

• Ability to effectively present information in both individual and small group settings.

• Competence in completing assigned work orders promptly and communicating their status.

• Ability to utilize handheld devices and business systems or document management software, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Adherence to relevant codes, regulations, governmental agency directives, and Company policies concerning building operations and safety.

• Knowledge of OSHA standards and Company safety protocols.

• Experience in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

• Willingness to travel locally between properties on a daily basis.

• Ability to lift/move up to 75 pounds occasionally.

• Capability to drive a company vehicle on a daily basis.

• Ability to use necessary safety equipment and comply with OSHA lock-out/tag-out and HAZCOM guidelines.
