This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee and manage high-volume statewide commercial foreclosure cases.
• Ensure timely actions are taken to expedite firm files.
• Serve as a liaison between the firm and clients, vendors, outside counsel, courts, trustees, and other foreclosure personnel.
• Manage files in accordance with relevant foreclosure regulations and established timelines of the firm.
• Utilize the firm’s case management system to create, manage, and review daily and weekly reports.
• Review and execute legal pleadings and correspondence.
• Keep accurate updates in both client and firm management systems.
• Draft, prepare, and present pleadings and other legal documents.
• Advocate for assigned cases at hearings, conferences, mediations, or trials.
• Attend and/or conduct public auctions as required.
• Examine title searches to identify title issues and determine the appropriate parties to serve.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Candidate must reside in the State of New York.
• Minimum of one year of experience representing creditors in commercial foreclosures and/or title proceedings; newly admitted candidates with a strong eagerness to learn these practice areas will also be considered.
• Must be admitted to practice law in New York.
• Admission to practice in New York’s federal district courts and/or other states is a plus.
• Experience in real estate, mortgage, and/or commercial litigation is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, and applicable state and federal debt collection and real property laws is advantageous.
• Experience in foreclosure and real estate law is beneficial; candidates without this experience must be willing to learn.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities are essential.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.
• Detail-oriented with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Proficient in legal research, writing, and document drafting.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.
• A portable book of business is an advantage.
• Must pass onboarding verifications.
• Must provide two professional references.
