This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Install new lighting systems, fixtures, and associated components in accordance with project specifications.
• Execute LED retrofit conversions and upgrades to energy-efficient lighting.
• Mount, wire, and connect lighting fixtures, ballasts, and control systems.
• Diagnose and repair defective lighting systems, ballasts, drivers, lamps, and wiring.
• Conduct routine maintenance, including re-lamping, cleaning fixtures, and inspecting electrical connections.
• Replace damaged components and ensure proper functionality and compliance with industry standards.
• Utilize multimeters, clamp meters, and other electrical testing tools to identify faults.
• Determine causes of electrical or control failures and propose suitable solutions.
• Adhere to OSHA and company safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures.
• Ensure that work complies with NEC requirements and local codes.
• Accurately complete work orders and service reports.
• Keep records of parts utilized, labor hours, and services rendered.
• Travel to various commercial job sites, occasionally requiring overnight stays depending on project scope.
• Professionally communicate with customers, facility managers, and contractors regarding work completed and next steps.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preference for trade school or apprenticeship experience).
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial lighting or electrical work.
• Understanding of various lighting systems, controls, and energy-efficient technologies.
• Capability to read blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, lifts, and ladders.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must successfully pass a drug screening and background check.
• Ability to work at heights and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work a significant amount of overtime.
• Ability to travel frequently and work overnight, night, and weekend shifts as necessary.
• Overtime opportunities available based on project schedules.
• $30.00 per day per diem while traveling.
