Commercial Cooking Equipment Service Technician – Hotside

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial ovens, ranges, fryers, griddles, broilers, steamers, and various foodservice equipment.

• Identify issues within gas systems, including ignition systems, burners, gas valves, regulators, thermocouples, and flame-sensing components.

• Troubleshoot electrical systems encompassing single- and three-phase circuits, heating elements, motors, contactors, relays, thermostats, and electronic controls.

• Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals effectively.

• Conduct preventive maintenance and ensure proper operation of equipment post-repair.

• Adhere to manufacturer procedures and relevant safety standards, including lockout/tagout and safe gas-handling protocols.

• Clearly communicate findings, repair requirements, and equipment status to both customers and the service team.

• Complete precise service documentation detailing work performed, parts utilized, and follow-up requirements.

• Maintain company tools, service vehicles, and parts inventory efficiently.

• Provide service for commercial cooking and food preparation equipment at client locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience in servicing commercial gas and electric cooking equipment.

• Strong skills in electrical troubleshooting and proficiency in using a multimeter.

• Knowledge of commercial gas systems, combustion, and ignition control mechanisms.

• Capability to independently diagnose equipment failures and carry out repairs.

• Excellent mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and customer service abilities.

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between customer sites.

• Ability to perform the physical tasks associated with field service work, with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Experience servicing cooking equipment in supermarkets, convenience stores, commissaries, or commercial kitchens is preferred.

• Manufacturer training or CFESA certification is preferred.

• Familiarity with steam equipment and electronic equipment controls is preferred.
