This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Engage in a 10-week compensated summer internship program.
• Participate in development workshops centered around essential business concepts.
• Contribute to significant projects while receiving guidance from managers.
• Conduct Model Audit Rule control assessments, track and review process narratives, and perform balance sheet review and mapping analysis.
• Assist in operational audit planning, including controls and substantive testing.
• Attend audit entrance and exit meetings.
• Help with policy tracking and the uploading of policies to Logic Gate.
• Join Quarterly CPC Meetings when available.
• Update and create audit dashboards utilizing Power BI.
• Aid in the preparation of the External Auditor Status Document.
• Support key strategic initiatives alongside a mentor.
• Complete tasks based on business requirements, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.
• Execute both technical and non-technical business-related projects.
• Prepare and deliver a presentation at the conclusion of the internship.
• Uphold confidentiality and safeguard member privacy.
• Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
• Pursuing a degree in Business & Management, Computing Sciences & Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Hold a High School diploma with proof of ongoing enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Must maintain good academic standing.
• Preferred proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Preferred experience with tools such as Power BI, ACL, SAS R, Python, or other data analysis and coding resources.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Capacity to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences and staff at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while preserving attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork skills and capability to foster positive working relationships.
• Organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization abilities.
• A proactive, innovative, and adaptable approach to assigned duties.
• Dedication to continuous improvement.
• Ability to function autonomously and as part of intra- and inter-departmental teams.
• Familiarity with using a desktop computer in a professional setting.
• Capability to work at a workstation using a computer, keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three or more hours consecutively.
• Willingness to travel across the Health Plan service area for meetings and/or training as required.
