This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supervise coding operations and workflows in vendor-supported markets.
• Lead and manage the Request for Information (RFI) process.
• Analyze trends in RFI, coding, and documentation to provide actionable insights.
• Collaborate with revenue cycle leadership, vendor partners, providers, and other departments.
• Implement enhancements in coding processes and improvements in workflows.
• Provide performance management, coaching, feedback, and career development.
• Ensure quality, consistency, and accountability in daily operations and deliverables.
• Identify opportunities for documentation improvement in conjunction with Provider Education and Revenue Cycle leadership.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in coding, audit findings, and vendor-related issues.
• Review both internal and external coding audits and implement necessary corrective actions.
• Identify trends in denials, support root cause analysis, and implement solutions to minimize denials.
• Oversee processes related to missing documentation and reporting.
• Monitor trends specific to EMR and recommend optimizations for workflows and performance.
• Guide providers and leadership on documentation quality, coding accuracy, and compliance standards.
• Stay updated with coding revisions, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
• Escalate any HIPAA and other compliance concerns or irregularities.
• Support revenue cycle performance initiatives with coding expertise and operational insights.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Medical Coding Certification (CCS or CPC).
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
• 5+ years of experience in Evaluation and Management Profee Coding.
• 1+ years of experience managing or supervising coding staff.
• Experience in auditing for coding accuracy.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal coding regulations and guidelines.
• Proficiency in CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR); eClinicalWorks or Epic experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities.
• Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills.
• Capability to collaborate across departments and work with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
