This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assign and sequence ICD-10 and/or CPT/HCPCS codes for specified patient categories, which include physician professional fees, technical fees, evaluation and management, hospital services, clinic services, and ancillary/recurring services.
• Examine and evaluate facility records to ensure that APC assignments and/or evaluation and management codes accurately represent the documented diagnoses and procedures.
• Extract clinical data following documentation review to validate diagnoses, procedures, and discharge dispositions.
• Execute designated work functions utilizing appropriate resources.
• Serve as a resource for client personnel concerning data integrity, clarifications, and compliant coding practices, including inquiries from providers.
• Uphold patient and provider confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Engage in meetings, training sessions, and conference calls with both clients and Savista staff.
• Keep abreast of the latest developments in ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, coding guidelines, governmental regulations, protocols, and third-party requirements.
• Take part in continuing education initiatives.
• Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment skills assessment.
• Possession of an active AHIMA credential, such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, or an active AAPC credential like COC, CCS-P, CPC, or a related specialty credential.
• A minimum of two years of recent and relevant coding experience.
• Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, as well as ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS code sets.
• Capability to consistently code at a 95% quality threshold while adhering to client-specific and/or Savista production and quality standards.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to input data and manage sorting and filtering in Excel files.
• Outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving abilities with both internal and external stakeholders.
