This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Perform coding for cardiology services, which encompasses cardiac catheterization, coronary angiography, electrophysiology procedures, pacemaker and ICD procedures, echocardiograms, cardiovascular diagnostic testing, stress testing, interventional cardiology procedures, consultations, and E/M services.
• Choose the correct CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, modifiers, and E/M levels according to provider documentation.
• Examine medical records to confirm that diagnoses and procedures are adequately supported by clinical documentation.
• Implement ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS, NCCI, E/M, modifier, Medicare, and payer-specific coding guidelines.
• Detect documentation or coding discrepancies and liaise with providers or client teams when further clarification is required.
• Execute precise and compliant coding that adheres to established productivity and quality benchmarks.
• Uphold coding precision while fulfilling production expectations.
• Remain updated on coding guidelines, regulations, and cardiology coding practices.
• Engage in team meetings, training sessions, continuing education, and professional development activities.
• Safeguard patient and provider information, ensuring HIPAA confidentiality is maintained.
• A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in professional fee coding.
• Recent coding experience in cardiology services is highly preferred.
• Possession of an active AHIMA or AAPC credential, such as CPC, CCS-P, CCS, CCA, RHIT, RHIA, COC, or a related coding credential.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology.
• Capability to consistently achieve a 95% quality standard while meeting productivity expectations.
• Strong attention to detail coupled with the ability to work independently.
• Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Successful completion of the mandatory pre-employment coding assessment.
