Coding Specialist II – Cardiology Profee

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Code services related to cardiology, including cardiac catheterization, coronary angiography, electrophysiology procedures, pacemaker and ICD procedures, echocardiograms, cardiovascular diagnostic tests, stress tests, interventional cardiology procedures, consultations, and evaluation and management (E/M) services.

• Choose suitable CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, modifiers, and E/M levels according to provider documentation.

• Examine medical records to confirm that diagnoses and procedures are backed by clinical documentation.

• Implement the latest ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS, NCCI, E/M, modifier, Medicare, and payer-specific coding guidelines.

• Identify any documentation or coding discrepancies and liaise with providers or client teams when clarification is required.

• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance within set productivity and quality benchmarks.

• Remain updated on coding guidelines, regulations, and changes in cardiology coding.

• Engage in team meetings, training sessions, continuing education, and professional growth initiatives.

• Safeguard patient and provider information while upholding strict HIPAA confidentiality.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in professional fee coding.

• Recent coding experience in cardiology services is highly preferred.

• Active credential from AHIMA or AAPC, such as CPC, CCS-P, CCS, CCA, RHIT, RHIA, COC, or a similar coding credential.

• In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding.

• Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology.

• Capability to consistently achieve a 95% quality standard while meeting productivity goals.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Successful completion of the mandatory pre-employment coding assessment.

• Adherence to HIPAA confidentiality requirements.
