Coding Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Montana, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Accurately code patient encounters in accordance with ICD-10 and CPT guidelines to ensure compliance and full reimbursement.

• Prepare and submit claims to Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurers, and other third-party payers, including all necessary documentation.

• Assess encounters and claims for any errors or missing information.

• Work collaboratively with staff and providers to address coding and billing challenges.

• Follow up on rejected, denied, or pending claims to ensure prompt resolution and payment.

• Engage in regular communication with providers and attend monthly meetings to address questions related to coding and billing.

• Ensure the accuracy of the billing system by managing claim statuses, secondary claims, and adhering to payer-specific requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required.

• Coding certification is preferred.

• Experience in medical billing and coding or working in a healthcare environment is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities are essential.

• Effective communication skills with providers, staff, and external partners are necessary.

• Candidates must reside within driving distance of one of One Health’s locations in Montana or Wyoming.

• Occasional travel may be required for technical issues or management purposes.
