In Patient Coder – Acute, CABG

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage medical coding and data entry/abstraction for Hospital (Acute) In-patient visits.

• Code CABG (cardiac), orthopedic, and medical cases.

• Utilize the 3M 360 Encoder HDM to enhance the coding and billing workflow.

• Precisely assign ICD-10-CM and PCS primary and secondary diagnosis and procedure codes based on documentation and site-specific guidelines and policies.

• Accurately determine the DRG.

• Generate compliant queries for physicians.

• Examine claims for medical necessity.

• Update problem lists in accordance with client contracts.

• Correctly assign present on admission indicators.

• Deliver exceptional customer service to clients and colleagues.

• Adapt and float between various sites and coding specialties with flexibility and ease.

• Execute other job-related responsibilities as necessary, adhering to relevant regulations including HIPAA and ERISA.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience.

• AHIMA or AAPC certification is REQUIRED.

• Actively holds one or more of the following credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, COC.

• Required experience in coding CABG, orthopedic, and medical cases.

• Required experience with 3M 360 Encoder HDM.

• Must meet or exceed Quality and Productivity standards.

• Strong communication skills (both written and oral) and interpersonal abilities.

• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.

• Attention to detail and ability to follow through on issues to resolution are essential.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team is required.
