In Patient Coder – Acute, CABG

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage medical coding and data entry/abstraction for inpatient hospital visits.

• Code cases related to CABG, orthopedic procedures, and other medical conditions.

• Utilize the 3M 360 Encoder HDM to enhance the efficiency of the coding and billing processes.

• Assign primary and secondary diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM and PCS according to documentation and site-specific guidelines.

• Accurately determine Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs).

• Generate compliant queries for physicians.

• Evaluate claims to ensure medical necessity.

• Update problem lists in accordance with client contracts.

• Assign present-on-admission indicators.

• Deliver exceptional customer service to clients and colleagues.

• Exhibit flexibility by floating between various sites and coding specialties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent experience is required.

• AHIMA or AAPC certification is MANDATORY.

• Must actively possess one or more of the following credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or COC.

• Required experience in coding CABG, orthopedic, and medical cases.

• Required experience with the 3M 360 Encoder HDM.

• Must meet or exceed established Quality and Productivity standards.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills.

• Possess strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management abilities.

• Attention to detail is essential, along with the ability to follow through to resolution.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
