This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Provide education across all levels of the organization regarding clinical documentation and medical coding that affects revenue.

• Collaborate in the creation and delivery of training and resource materials for the technical and system applications utilized by Coding and CDI personnel.

• Leverage knowledge in coding and clinical documentation management, along with electronic medical record capabilities and technology, to enhance operational efficiency.

• Support and streamline staff coding, clinical documentation processes, and revenue safeguarding efforts.

• Adapt working hours in accordance with departmental operational requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate's Degree in health information technology, health information management, or a related healthcare discipline, or two years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

• A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in coding or CDI.

• At least one certification is required: Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist Physician-Based (CCS-P), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), or Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP).

• Availability between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM CST, Monday through Friday, as operational needs dictate.

• Must reside in a state approved for remote work with UW Health.

• A Bachelor's Degree in health information technology, health information management, or a related healthcare field is preferred.

• Experience with quality improvement initiatives in Coding and CDI is preferred.

• Experience in training, organizational development activities, or project management principles is preferred.
