Coding Educator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Identify opportunities for enhancing provider documentation.

• Develop educational plans customized for assigned providers.

• Organize educational sessions aimed at improving quality of care and documentation practices.

• Assess educational needs based on analytical reports.

• Generate reports and presentations on coding quality trends, risk areas, and educational outcomes utilizing data visualization.

• Deliver onsite education to providers.

• Collaborate with other roles that engage directly with providers in the market.

• Employ data analytics tools to evaluate coding quality, recognize error patterns, and ensure compliance.

• Analyze coding audit results and related data to create educational materials and interventions.

• Partner with teams to enhance documentation, data integrity, and workflow processes.

• Report to the Manager of Medicare Risk Adjustment.

• Occasionally travel to nearby provider offices and Humana offices for training or meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• AHIMA or AAPC CPC (Certified Professional Coder) Certification.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in medical coding education or auditing within a healthcare setting.

• Proficient in data analytics tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms.

• Experience in interpreting large data sets.

• Solid understanding of healthcare risk adjustment, including HCC coding and CMS-HCC model version 28.

• Experience communicating with leadership.

• Skills in webinars, public speaking, or delivering presentations to healthcare providers.

• Reside in NC, SC, GA, or VA.

• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.

• Minimum home internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.

• A dedicated workspace free from ongoing interruptions to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information.
