This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Investigate intricate coding challenges and propose effective solutions.

• Assess training requirements and formulate coding education methodologies.

• Create and revise coding curricula, projects, and evaluations for USACS and vendor coders.

• Provide engaging instruction via coding and learning platforms in both virtual and in-person environments.

• Track learner advancement, offer constructive feedback, and support students individually or in groups.

• Evaluate student outcomes, analyze assessment results, and communicate findings.

• Engage in external training initiatives and deliver presentations to attract candidates for the internal coding team.

• Develop and update coding resources, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and site pages.

• Investigate inpatient and specialty medicine coding subjects, formulate problem statements and recommendations, and present educational or continuous improvement updates.

• Collaborate with revenue cycle management (RCM) internal teams to ensure accurate implementation of coding processes, guidelines, and policies.

• Provide educational consultations to the internal Coding Department personnel.

• Support QA webinars, quarterly coding meetings, and vendor calibration discussions.

• Review audit outcomes, identify root issues, initiate targeted education, and track results for enhancement.

• Carry out additional departmental responsibilities as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Accreditation as RHIT, RN, CPC, or CCS-P.

• Experience in inpatient medicine professional fee coding.

• Familiarity and expertise with ICD-10-CM and CPT coding, particularly in inpatient medicine.

• Understanding of inpatient medicine payer and coding standards.

• Proficient in utilizing Windows-based systems, particularly Excel, Word, Adobe, PowerPoint, and Zoom.

• Capability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.

• Aptitude for identifying, researching, and resolving issues and discrepancies.

• Professional communication skills with colleagues, management, physicians, and vendors.

• Ability to uphold confidentiality.

• Strong organizational capabilities.
