This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
β’ Design, develop, and revise coding education curricula according to the latest coding guidelines, regulations, and industry best practices.
β’ Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and webinars for coders and related personnel.
β’ Develop e-learning modules and online courses utilizing multimedia tools and e-learning platforms.
β’ Provide practical support to coders by assessing coding accuracy and ensuring compliance.
β’ Collaborate with clinical documentation improvement specialists to ensure precise and thorough medical documentation.
β’ Perform coding audits and deliver comprehensive feedback to enhance coding accuracy and expertise.
β’ Provide continual education on coding innovations and emerging trends in healthcare.
β’ Instruct coders on compliance regulations, ethics, as well as fraud and abuse prevention.
β’ A Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management is required.
β’ A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
β’ Experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
β’ 2β3 years of coding experience is required.
β’ Teaching experience is preferred (1β2 years).
β’ Certification such as CCS, CPMA, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CHC, or CPB is required.
β’ Strong instructional capabilities are essential.
β’ Thorough knowledge of coding guidelines, compliance regulations, and industry standards is necessary.
β’ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.
β’ Strong analytical abilities are a must.
β’ Proven ability to work effectively with coding staff, trainers, managers, and other stakeholders.
