Coder II – Profee, Cath & EP Lab

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Process and submit 64 encounters daily, or 8 per hour, pertaining to evaluation & management, procedures, testing, hospital services, and denials.

• Engage in discussions about coding and guidelines with providers in a cooperative and professional manner.

• Provide detailed explanations of findings and guidelines to providers regarding issues identified in the daily workflow.

• Verify the accuracy of assigned CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 diagnosis codes before submission.

• Navigate through electronic medical records as they pertain to billing and coding responsibilities.

• Map and connect diagnoses for evaluation and management as well as procedures.

• Communicate effectively and accurately with providers during the querying process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience is essential.

• Must be adept at discussing coding and guidelines with providers in a collaborative and professional manner.

• Capable of providing guidance regarding the coding of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS codes, and new evaluation management guidelines for both office and hospital settings.

• Ability to elaborate on findings and guidelines with providers on issues identified within the daily workflow.

• Review assigned CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 diagnosis codes for accuracy before submission.

• Knowledge of hierarchy coding and the positioning of column 1 and 2.

• Proficient in navigating electronic medical records as they relate to billing and coding.

• Familiarity with clinical documentation in relation to ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding.

• Must be capable of mapping and linking diagnoses for evaluation and management as well as procedures.

• The individual must be able to communicate clearly and precisely with providers during the querying process.

• Knowledge of Medicare, Managed Care, and Commercial Insurance guidelines for coding E&M and procedures.

• Exceptional organizational skills and time management abilities are required.
