This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate documentation to ensure all necessary components are present, such as attestations, signatures, and dates.

• Extract and classify surgical procedures from all sections of the CPT and align surgical codes with ASA codes.

• Code intricate anesthesia cases.

• Utilize appropriate modifiers.

• Code ICD10 accurately.

• Conduct coding across a range of locations and high-complexity cases.

• Abstract anesthesia times and related events.

• Identify and designate care team providers.

• Review for medical direction compliance.

• Achieve team KPIs, including daily production targets and quarterly coding audit score requirements.

• Engage in escalation workflows and address coder requests for further information.

• Manage coding rejections and responses from physicians.

• Address assigned IDX edits and resolve claim denials.

• Comply with company policies and procedures, particularly concerning HIPAA and confidentiality.

• Undertake additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of surgical coding experience.

• At least 2 years of experience in anesthesia coding.

• Current CPC certification is required; CANPC certification is a plus.

• Experience in coding for physicians, CRNA, CAA, NP, SRNA, and residents.

• Proficiency in complex surgical CPT and ICD10 coding.

• Familiarity with NCCI bundling, LCD/NCD, and CMS coding regulations.

• Experience with various EMRs and documentation formats, including handwritten and electronic medical records.

• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe PDF, and Outlook.

• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.

• Ten-key proficiency.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities.

• Excellent computer skills.

• Capability to work independently and self-initiate new projects.

• Must reside in the US, excluding California, Hawaii, and Alaska.
